VFX Supervisor

Job Responsibilities
Works closely with the Director to develop and interpret their creative vision.
Briefs entire crew on director’s creative vision to enable artists to produce desired results.
Understand the entire production process and approve the work of all crew on the show.
Responsible for all internal creatives and tech requirements for the show to ensure client creative is met within studio budgets.
Verifies technical solutions proposed by other crew members.
Ensures a proper Playbook is created at the beginning of a project to distribute to departments prior to show launch.
Responsible for leading all creative launches with departments.
Attends daily reviews and/or reviews playlists and adds notes into shotgun where required.
Attends daily rounds/scrums with departments and show teams.
Attends all client reviews to discuss notes and present our creative.
Responsible for reviewing final QC pass prior to delivery to ensure creative and technical notes have been addressed.
Qualifications and Essential Skills
At least 10+ years of VFX post-production experience.
A creative eye and aesthetic judgement – knowing composition, cinematic design and animation timing
Needs to have an understanding of Directing/Lighting/Camerawork/Practical Effects/Camera Gripping/Art Department/Production Design and Props
An innate sense of composition, light, colour and excellent attention to detail
On-set supervision experience.
Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines often under pressure
Excellent communication, organization skills and financial and budget management skills
Expert in industry-standard software packages such as Maya, Houdini. A thorough understanding of the CG & 2D principles and pipeline is essential
Proven team leader with strong motivational qualities
Technically and creatively astute
Highly organized
Able to effectively communicate with people at all levels
